Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Joe Perry has just written a new biography: “Rocks: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith” in which he shares childhood photos and stories of his life and career.
Perry spent three years putting the book together and he did so because he had that feeling “that it was time.” Perry also feels that, “being in this business, there were not a lot of people doing what we were doing and it was the 40th anniversary of the band, we were finishing our record for Sony, our kids were out of the house, so there were a lot of changes going on and it felt like a cornerstone of my career and my family’s changes.”
Perry’s friend and big fan Johnny Depp wrote the forward for the book. Perry recalls that when he asked Depp to write the forward “he was glad to do it.”
The book also details the formation of Aerosmith and stories of his career with the band.
