The following is a letter I handed to Joe, along with a few other writings… The discussion you see the pics, is this letter…

October 16th, 2014

Joe;

I hope you don’t mind…
I’m sure you get millions of people who just want your attention for a bit, and that’s hard. Yeah, I’m a huge fan, but I also have tremendous respect for your privacy, and private life. I don’t want to take superficial time for my own joy. So with that said, I just wanted to give you a few things. Keep them, share them, toss them, whatever you wish, I just ask if you wouldn’t mind taking a look.

The picture is from a hiking trip that my, 17 year old daughter, Natalie and I took this summer, just outside of Yosemite. It’s close to where we live. We do these things a lot. The point of the picture is the lyrics on it. At one time in my early life, these lyrics meant exactly what they were written about. Now later in life though, they mean something entirely different… I can appreciate where you’ve been, and better… where you’ve been since.

The writings enclosed, are some, I don’t know… “essays”, “journals”, “blogs”… They’re just some things I wrote about “MY” Top 100 Aerosmith songs. I wrote these in the 4 months leading up to the Concord, CA show, which of course, I posted each day leading up to August 13th, on my FB page, for my friends to see. More importantly though, I did it to express what this band of yours, has meant, and done for me over the years. Yeah, I wrote something on all 100 (of mine)…. Crazy, right?  Don’t panic, I’ve just given you 4…

Some are my interpretations, some silly trivia, some how they paralleled my life, some just what they mean to me. I sincerely hope you like them. And if you don’t, that’s cool too, just hope you can appreciate what you’ve done for so many of us.

I would have loved to see you guys at least one more time, It would have been my wife Mary, and mine  7th (?) show together. And, well I don’t know how many of my own. It also would have been my (youngest) daughter Natalie’s 1st concert, who by the way is also a huge fan! But I’m happy to hear Joey is doing better…

I’ve been with you from One Way Street, to Edge, Blind Man, to Fighter, and everything in between…

To you and yours, thank you for the memories, the entertainment, and your part in writing “The Handbook To My Life”…

PS; I’m happy to say, we got see a few more this year, and Natalie finally got to see a concert the way it’s supposed to be done. She was “Professionally Rocked” by the best there is!

I am a man of simple means. My family is what's important to me. My family and my 3 girls mean more to than the sun! If you ask me what I think, I will tell you straight! So don't ask if you don't wanna know. I like people who are real and don't like those who aren't. You'll know where you fit with me pretty quick. I give most everyone the benefit of the doubt, at least until they prove me wrong. I've lived most my life like there was no tomorrow, at least until my daughters were born, and then even a bit after. By the way; That is NOT good advice... just a statement. I don't believe in "Halfway" Why put on the skis if you're not gonna at least try the face? But I also believe that there is more than Black and White. I believe in where I came from, I don't believe what I went through was ALL worth it! I believe in doing the right thing, more than doing what's right! I believe in "true" friendship, I also know that 99% of them aren't true. I will live a happy life and die a complete man if my kids learn from my mistakes.
